Rolleiflex 3.5a (Type K4a) TLR - Medium Format Film Camera
Year Released: 1951
Fun Fact: When we unboxed this camera here at Film Scouts, we found an undeveloped roll of 120mm film! We'll make a separate post of the photos, check them out! 🤩
The Rolleiflex 3.5a (Type K4a), is a twin lens reflex camera (TLR) and shoots medium format film. The Rolleiflex is the nicer model of the Rollei TLR line, above the Rolleicord (which we also have in the shop right now)! Soon after the end of WWII, Rollei designers Franke & Heidecke started further improvements of their hugely successful 6x6 Automat series. This resulted in a series of Rolleiflex 3.5 TLR's which were produced during a period of 27 years.
Another fun fact: The US Customs inspection stamp, as seen in the second to last slide, is dated from 1953, which makes us think that maybe the photos in the camera are also from 1953. Who knows where they were taken, though! Let us know where you think they are in our next post!
This Rolleiflex 3.5a is clean, functional, comes with case and OG lens cap, and is fully covered under Film Scouts' 30 day warranty.
